4th Convoy to Kyiv

A quick update on the latest support Countryside Finance has sent to Ukraine. Two more pick ups were driven to Kyiv in Ukraine in early May, 1,700 miles from the Lincolnshire Wolds to central Ukraine. 

These two vehicles, a Toyota Hilux and Nissan Navara, are already working near the front line in some of the hottest sections (Chasiv Yar in the Donbas). The Hilux was paid for by a well known face to many of you, Robert Oldershaw (Oldershaws of Moulton/Moulton Bulb Company Ltd). Robert (pictured below under duress after I insisted we had a photo of him with his truck!) was so outraged by the treatment President Trump gave to President Zelensky of Ukraine that he decided to do something about it, and got in touch. We quickly sorted a great pick up truck complete with drone-jamming capabilities that will help soldiers defend their land.

This convoy had over €700k of vehicles and drones all organised by the Estonian Help99 charity, who have taken over 650 pick ups to Ukraine since 2022. These vehicles save on average 50 lives by enabling wounded soldiers to be evacuated, exposed positions to be resupplied, and generally keep the Ukrainians mobile while they fight off continual 'meat wave' assaults by Russians who throw away their men's lives in a way that horrifies even the hardened Ukrainians fighting them off. 

The soldiers we meet are incredible people, being fathers and some of them even grandfathers. One bought us toys to take back to our children.
